Kihei, on the South coast of Maui, caters more to the "free and independent traveler", with its beautiful beaches, golf courses, hotels, Wailea Resort development, and its easy accessibility to other parts of the island.

Mt. Haleakala, Maui's dormant volcano, and a National Park, provides the opportunity to drive to over 10,000 feet elevation through beautiful countryside, provides the backdrop here, whilst the offshore islands are Kahoolawe, little Molokini and Lanai, offering excellent snorkeling, diving and fishing.
